Alternative Renewable Energy â€Å"Windmills† Renewable energy is an alternative to fossil fuels and nuclear power, and was commonly called alternative energy in the 1970s and 1980s. Scientists have advanced a plan to power 100% of the worlds energy with wind, hydroelectric, and solar power by the year 2030. I am writing this paper about Alternative Renewable Energy I have chosen to write about Windmills or Wind Turbines, this is the future in power generation if we want to continue life as we know it with plenty of electricity to spare. I will discuss both land windmills and offshore windmills a great alternative to fossil fuels. Most people around the world know we need alternative energy sources. It does not matter if the driving force†¦show more content†¦Sweden also has jumped on the wind currents, announcing that their country will be completely green by phasing out fossil fuel use by 2020. The country already generates 26 percent of all of its energy needs fro m renewable resources. How many more years before our fossil fuels runs out this is a major debate or dilemma, most researchers have their own opinion. We all know that crude oil, coal and gas are the main resources for the worlds energy supply and that we are going to run out at sometime because these are all non renewable energy sources so this question needs to be answered, and a solution needs to come quick to this problem. According to Shahriar Shafiee and Erkan Topal, who came up with a new formula for calculating when fossil fuel reserves are likely to be depleted, oil will be depleted in 35 years, coal in 107 years and gas in 37 years, respectively. â€Å"This means that coal reserves are available up to 2112 and will be the only fossil fuel remaining after 2042 (Shafiee, Topal)† sounds just a little scary to me. This is all dependent on consumption and price.
